Trying to be Quick About It

When something that you have dreamed of is dangling right out of your reach, it's really hard not to wish the others ahead of you, a wrongful death.

A couple of years ago, I helped a local organization do a survey of the city's homeless population. Unsure what kind of people I might run into, I took a pocketful of silver with me. I figured that if things got ugly, I could toss the money and, while they scrambled to pick it up, run like hell.

So, maybe you just need to distract the folks ahead of you with something sparkly and desirable. When they step out of line to satisfy their greed, you can grab your dream and fly like the wind.

It just seems to me that dream gathering shouldn't involve fatalities.

First, I'd need something "sparkly and desireable," and then I'd need to actually know those in front of me, which in this case, isn't exactly possible.
